About Accord Twin

Mahdi MST · Updated 2026-10-09

Accord Twin is a free fragrance matching tool. You describe how you want to smell, and it names three real bottles at three prices, with the notes each one actually lists. It earns no commission on any of them.

What the site does

Most fragrance recommendations are written to sell something. Accord Twin is built the other way round: it starts from a list of bottles we can describe accurately, and only says what that list supports. If the honest answer is that the cheap bottle is the better buy, that is the answer you get. If the honest answer is that nothing we list matches what you asked for, it says that too.

Where the data comes from

Every bottle on the site carries a published note list, a price, and a Fragrance Wheel family. There are currently 145 bottles and 66 listed dupe pairings. Where we hold a typical wear-hours figure or a concentration, we publish it. Where we do not, the field is left blank rather than estimated, and the guides say so in the text.

A note list describes what a fragrance is meant to evoke. It is not a formula and it carries no proportions, so two bottles can publish the same notes and still smell different. We say that plainly in every comparison rather than implying a match we cannot prove.

The rule every guide is checked against

Nothing gets published that we cannot trace. Before any guide goes live it is run through an automated fact gate that checks every bottle name, every price, every wear-hour figure and every note against the approved list. A guide that names a bottle we do not hold, states an hour figure we never published, or calls one fragrance a dupe of another without a listed pairing does not ship. It has caught real errors in our own drafts, including a universal claim about which bottles carry a note that turned out to be wrong.

This is the single biggest difference between this site and most dupe content, where notes and prices are routinely invented because nothing stops them being invented.

How it makes money

Not from the recommendations. There are no sponsored placements and no advertising, nobody pays to appear, and no recommendation here is worth more to us than any other: the three bottles are chosen before any link is attached to them. What money the site does make comes from the one thing it sells — the $6.99 deep card — and any paid link will be labelled as one, on the card, at the moment you see it. There are no advertising trackers; the one thing we run is Google Analytics, to count visits, and only if you allow it on the banner — see the privacy page for exactly what it records and how to change your answer.

If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on this page and on every guide it affects, before it changes.

Who writes it

Guides are written and fact-checked by Mahdi MST, who built Accord Twin and maintains the bottle list behind it. Corrections are welcome and acted on: if something here is wrong, say so and it will be fixed and dated.

Corrections

Prices move and formulations get reformulated. If you find a price, a note list or an hour figure that no longer matches reality, tell us and we will correct the underlying list rather than patch the sentence, so every guide that depends on it is fixed at once.
